Day by Day

There was so much for my 7 year-old daughter to take in on our latest trip to Walgreens. As she stood in front of this ad, clutching her favorite stuffed Dalmatian puppy in her hand, she studied the image for a long time. What did she see? What did her developing brain take in?

I want to prepare and teach her about the complexity of beauty, adornment, love, race and sex positivity-especially as our Supreme Court just took a severe sharp right turn. Let’s continue to lead by example and raise our daughters (and our sons) day by day, conversation by conversation, to become fierce, intelligent, joyful, compassionate humans. Our country needs them, desperately.
